BCS&AP Stakeholders' Consultation Meeting, Leh (03 August 2021)

The stakeholders’ consultation meeting was organized by The Celestial Earth with the support from Wildlife Protection Department, UT Ladakh and UNDP. The purpose of the meeting was for validation and knowledge gathering for the development of the Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan of Ladakh UT. The meeting was graced with the presence of Sh. Sajjad Hussain Mufti (Regional Wildlife Warden, UT Ladakh- Leh District) who briefed about the ecosystem of Ladakh and its rich and unique biodiversity and on the conservation actions for the landscape. The meeting was further carried forward by the team of The Celestial Earth, 12 government departments and three personals from the UNDP Secure Himalaya Project were present. The meeting ended with a gracious closure speech by UNDP, where they mentioned about the earnest importance of the document in the region.

BCS&AP Stakeholders' Consultation Meeting, Kargil (07 August 2021)

The team of The Celestial Earth with heartful support from the Wildlife Protection Department, UT Ladakh and UNDP, conducted a stakeholders’ consultation meeting for the knowledge gathering and suggestions for developing the Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan of Ladakh UT. The meeting was graced with the presence of Sh. Mohsin Ali (Executive Councellor, LAHDC- Kargil) where he explained how Kargil is an integral part of Ladakh and India and has stress on the fact that the region is untouched in the context of biodiversity conservation and developmental progress, hence, the region needs attention from all the stakeholders. He further stretched that the district of Kargil requires much of attention from various institutions, R&D agencies and policy makers to make the region sustain in the long run. The meeting was further carried with various discussions by the team of The Celestial Earth, Sh. Raza Ali (Wildlife Warden- Kargil, Department of Wildlife Protection), Sh. Mohd. Sajid Sultan (DFO, Kargil, Department of Forest) and other eight government departments and one NGO. The meeting ended with a gracious closure speech by the Wildlife Warden, where they mentioned about the earnest importance of the document in the region.
