Research on Renewable Energy and EV Grid Integration by The Celestial Earth Published in IJFMR

A research paper titled "Geo-Spatial Analysis of Placement Scenarios and Hosting Capacities for RE-Solar & EV-Charging Infrastructure: A Study in Kerala Distribution Network" by The Celestial Earth has been published in the International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research (IJFMR).

Co-authored by Dr. Anindya Bhattacharya, Executive Director, and Dr. Trina Som, Senior Research Fellow, the study explores the integration of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure into Kerala's electricity distribution network. Using geospatial analysis and the open-source Python for Power System Analysis (PyPSA) platform, the research evaluates hosting capacities under different operational scenarios to support reliable and sustainable grid planning.

The findings provide practical insights into the additional solar PV and EV charging capacities that can be accommodated within the existing distribution network while maintaining grid stability. The study also highlights the importance of transformer and feeder capacity assessment, voltage regulation, reactive power management, and data-driven planning to facilitate the transition towards a cleaner and more resilient energy system.

The publication contributes to ongoing research on renewable energy integration, electric mobility, and distribution network planning, with a focus on supporting sustainable and future-ready power systems.
