Dr. Tania Bhattacharya Participates in BRICS High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change

Dr. Tania Bhattacharya, Founder & CEO of The Celestial Earth, participated as an invited participant in the BRICS High-Level Dialogue on Climate Change: “People-Centric Community-Based Adaptation”, held in New Delhi.

The high-level dialogue brought together experts and representatives from BRICS countries to exchange perspectives on mainstreaming community-based adaptation as a pathway to strengthening climate resilience. Discussions highlighted the importance of integrating traditional and indigenous knowledge with modern science, technology, and digitisation to develop locally relevant, inclusive, and effective climate adaptation solutions.

Representatives from China, Russia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Brazil shared experiences and traditional knowledge-based approaches to climate adaptation from their respective countries. The session was chaired by Ms. Leena Chandran, whose insights further enriched the discussions.

Dr. Tania Bhattacharya’s participation in the dialogue provided an opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives on community-based climate adaptation and contribute to discussions focused on placing communities at the centre of climate resilience.
