The Celestial Earth Research Published in Green and Low-Carbon Economy
The Celestial Earth announces the publication of its latest research paper, "Pathways to a Green Transition in Kerala: Economic and Employment Impacts from a State-Level Integrated Assessment," in the peer-reviewed journal Green and Low-Carbon Economy.
The study develops India's first state-level Integrated Assessment Model (IAM), integrating a dynamic Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model with the MESSAGEix energy system model to assess alternative green transition pathways for the state of Kerala.
The research demonstrates that strategic investments in renewable energy, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced productivity can support economic growth while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The analysis also highlights the potential for a well-planned green transition to strengthen energy security, generate employment, and inform evidence-based climate and energy policymaking at the state level.
This publication is the outcome of a collaborative effort involving researchers from The Celestial Earth, the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), and the Centre for Development Studies (CDS). We extend our sincere appreciation to all the co-authors and collaborators for their valuable contributions to this research.
The Celestial Earth remains committed to advancing high-quality, policy-relevant research that supports India's transition towards a resilient, inclusive, and low-carbon future.
