Job Title: Research Associate Work profile:
Work on Biodiversity Impact Assessment (BIA) (especially for Transmission lines)
Carry on background research/ literature reviews to synthesise the state of knowledge on exploring the requirements of assigned project(s)
Work with the team in field (high altitude) to collect data (ecological and socio-economical)
Analyze the collected data for final report
Present the BIA report in the required format Minimum Academic Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Wildlife Biology/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Natural Resource Management/ Botany (preferably with a specialization or thesis work on ecological field studies) Requirements:
>2 years of experience working in field for data collection (preferably in BIA surveys)
Apt knowledge of species identification (flora, avifauna and mammals).
Knowledge on legal aspects of Biodiversity (Biodiversity Act, Forest Act, Wildlife Protection
Act, etc.)
Good communicating skills to carry out socio-economic surveys even in remote locations
Sound knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Power Point
Able to analyse data on R-package/ PAST/ MINITAB/ SPSS, etc
Able to work on QGIS/ Arc GIS
Fluent in English and Hindi
Experience in working on at the Himalayas
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Technical knowledge in biodiversity conservation and management
